After waiting for months and finally pre-ordering in December, I finally downloaded this new product from Intuit.
Cut to the chase…. It is so bad I can’t believe it!!!!
It is totally useless and lacks 90% of the functionallity of the 2010 Windows version.
I’m going to have to run Window on my MacBook Pro… just to use the Windows version of Quicken..
I’m bummed and have already requested a refund.
This is going to be a HUGE bust for Intuit…. No buddy, repeat No buddy will find the new Mac version useful.

Quicken Essentials for Mac is a terrible, terrible, terrible piece of software there are probably better free or shareware apps available on the internet. I'm going to look. The reviews of this program are not good, but the ones I read complained about online banking and check writing features that I don't use. I have had Quicken 2007 on my Mac for 3 years and for the first 2 years it worked great. Now the Mac will not open Quicken 2007 or a new Quicken Essentials that I down loaded. It gives me a message th read more.
- I finally bought a subscription to Quicken 2018 in anticipation of Mojave finally breaking Quicken Mac 2007. Q2018 is OK although I much prefer the Quick Report functionality of QM 2007. Since it turns out QM2007 still work fine in Mojave I guess I'll continue running parallel for another year.
- When they stopped support for Quicken Essentials for Mac I told myself I would never use it again (on a Mac). Years later, the new 2019 version syncs with all my bank/CC accounts see more Quicken 2019 works great on my Mac. IOS App is seamless. All in the Cloud. I hadn't used Quicken for Mac in years (and was frustrated).
- Download Bank2OFX for Mac to convert and combine bank files to OFX format. Wave Accounting, LessAccounting, Quicken Essentials and iBank/Banktivity for Mac and many others.
