BobbyHudson- Bobby is Scott’solder brother. He dropped out of school and started to work from place to placeand also to concentrate on his music carreer. He had a lot of problems withmoney and had to come back home until he saw that his mother war pregnant.Bobby couldn't read, he was a wild kid in school so he thought his he actedthat way no one would notice his problem. Bobby is very loyal, after he leftand gave up he told Scott he wasn't a good big brother but really Scottcouldn't with for anyone else.

Julia- Julia is the girl Scott likes. Youdon’t know much about her but we do know she keeps her hair in a long sidebraid, and in Scott’s perspective she's a goddess. Scott always remembers themoment with Julia in kindergarten when they shared a pack of peanut buttercrackers. Julia is kind and sweet and she learns there are better people out therethan the ones that are rude.

Loudon(Mouth)- Mouth is a nice kid that talks a lot. He is brave because he asked outalmost every girl in school and got turned down by them all. Scott thought hehad no guilt, but really he was just trying to make friends. Since Mouth talkedso much people tried to avoid him, also because he talked about topics no onereally understood or liked. Stress and rejection cause Mouth to try and killhimself but that didn't go so well but he did survive and was transferred to adifferent school.

In chapter ten, Scott is awakened Saturday morning by his mother's racket in the nursery. He has a makeshift bookshelf in the room made of cinder blocks and she makes him take them down. Scott then spends some time on homework before heading to see Kyle and Patrick. Mitch, as usual, is with the girlfriend. They shoot hoops for awhile before Scott quits, moving to a bench to read while Kyle and Patrick continue to play. When Scott arrives home he discovers his mom has baked a cake, apparently to celebrate the fact that Bobby has a job at a nearby market, close enough that he can walk to work.
